Look out California! We’re commin’ a-cha and this time were with our bros Akron/Family. We also have some rad non-west-coast dates for all you inlanders. Check ‘em kid:
Our bros in Akron Family have invited us to do a 3 day residency at Quixote’s in Denver with them. This marks the beginning of a new ERA. This is a celebration. Breaking down the walls of ‘cool’ that have stifled rock style music for decades. Family music. Regular people music. Tight vibes. We wanna take you higher. We wanna grind with you. Are you ready?
First off, if you’ve missed our live jammers lately it’s because we’ve been working hard on a new record and staying ‘in’. Well… TWO new records! More on that soon.
We do have some new shows announced though:
March 19th. w/ J.A.D. @ Le Girrage GRAND JUNCTION, CO
March 20th. w/ Future of the Ghost @ Kilby Ct. SALT LAKE CITY, UT
March 26th. w/Paen @ Hodi’s FT. COLLINS, CO
March 31st. w/High Places @ Hi-Dive DENVER, CO
May 14th. w/ Akron Family @ Quixtotes DENVER, CO
May 15th. w/ Akron Family @ Quixotes DENVER, CO
May 16th. w/ Akron Family @ Quixotes DENVER, CO
June 27th w/The Donkeys @ Hi-Dive DENVER, CO
Secondly… I feel like I’ve been unfair to ‘new’ bands. By that I mean bands that currently exist or have existed in the last ten years. I have, for many years, only listened to the greats, the classics, Beattles, Stones, Velvet Undergrounds, Black Flags, Bo Diddleys, Peter Toshes, Crasses etc… Bands from the past that forever touched our culture. This is where I have been for years. Still am. Haven’t really kept up with the new stuff. But a few ‘modern’ bands have recently crept into my radar and I want to give credit where credit is due. These are people who are, in my opinion, killing it these days. MODERN THRASHERS: Akron Family, King Khan, Girls, Tune Yards, The Donkeys, Best Coast, BLK JKS. I’m pretty unhip to the ‘new’ music. Turn me on!
Recording a new record. Sounding killer so far. Trying to be a fictional band. Lowrider, ‘oldies’ comps are the inspiration. Thinking of calling the new record, ‘OLDIES’.
More soon. Perhaps some rough mixes for you to enjoy!
For those of you that are never on our tour paths. Or those just too busy to make it to one of our shows. (I completely understand.) Or for those who live somewhere that we can not afford to go to… Here is an online store for the BWC items that were previously only available at our shows.
Have I raved about Candy Claws to you yet? They’re these super great people from Ft. Collins Colorado. Underwater music. I remember this one time my friend Mason stole a big industrial tank of Nitrous Oxide. Candy Claws kind of remind me of that. They are by far my favorite band in Colorado. Trip out on this video of theirs:
